Tickets purchased. Tours finalised. Injections (mostly) over and done with. Now it's just a matter of counting the days until we finally get to leave the working world behind.
45 days to go.
As things stand, Joel, Jim and I plan to embark on what Joel has dubbed our 'Perudent Adventure', involving a three week tour from Lima in Peru to La Paz in Bolivia, followed by a five week volunteer placement in a yet undetermined Peruvian village.
Current to-do lists sport mentions of a four day hike along the Inca Trail, the chewing of cocoa leaves, sightings of the famed Nazca Lines, and long nights of Pisco Sours among friends old and new.
But the journey towards our perudent dream will not be without its perils. We will need to brave 36 hours of transit from Sydney Australia, to Lima Peru, facing dangers of sore joints, sleep deprivation, and possible psychosis from the excessive quoting of movies.
Then again, it's just two guys, a girl, and eight weeks on the road.
What could possibly go wrong?
